Title: "Thunder in the Valley" -Canadian hill climb Post by: Manky Monkey on October 27, 2013, 10:20:07 PM While I was on holiday in Nova Scotia recently, my brother in law "Baggie" took me to a local hill climb meet.
Everybody drives pick-up trucks out there, on the road & off. Dirt drag racing with lots of different classes, from stripped out SUVs to mid sized pick-ups, to big trucks, to purpose built tubular framed, paddle tyred mud pluggers. The hill climb was a straight run up a 45 degree incline. The following day they were doing dirt slalem racing too. We arrived early & didn't stay that long, but I would've liked to go back. On the way home we passed several 60s muscle cars, including a '69 Charger in full General Lee livery heading that way. Would've made great photos in the dirt. Redneck Racing. A hillbilly hillclimb.
