Post by: spanners on September 17, 2013, 12:43:05 PM
is the law as regards tyres still the same ?

crossplys  front and rear .
radials    front and rear

crossplys front and radials rear

BUT NOT ALLOWED
 radials front and crossply rear
and no crossplys and radials on the same axle

just i,v been out of the tyre loop for awhile and wondered if things were still the same  ::)

As far as I can tell.
Think the no radials front/cross-ply rear, applies to two axle vehicles with single wheels ???

It appears that the legal requirement is that cross-ply and radial are not allowed on the same axle.

It appears that having cross-ply on one axle and radial on the other is an MoT failure (and not recommended practice).

Suggest you get advice from someone in the tyre trade and MoT business as this is simply info gleaned off the web.
