Title: Brake line fixing Post by: andyrennison on July 05, 2013, 07:46:04 PM I am proposing to use this method for fixing the brake pipes and handbrake cable. A hole is drilled and tapped, then the pipe is secured using a stainless p-clip with rubber liner and a stainless screw. Is this acceptable for the msva?

Point taken about stress points :) Title: Re: Brake line fixing Post by: andyrennison on July 05, 2013, 08:50:52 PM More than fine mate,my hand brake cables are held up with cable ties and the brake pipes with "double loop" cable ties so p-clips fitted properly will be fine Thanks Wayne. That is very reassuring. The copper will be nickel plated (replica chrome) so I want the fixings to set that off :) was worried what was needed. Title: Re: Brake line fixing Post by: Olds on July 06, 2013, 06:57:12 AM For the brake pipes, because I didn't want the hassle of drilling, I used zip ties with short (5mm) lengths of 6mm plastic tube to form the stand offs.
MSVA inspector was more than happy about this. Title: Re: Brake line fixing Post by: Manky Monkey on July 06, 2013, 08:58:35 PM That's equally tidy Dave -& ingenious.
