Title: brake fluid cleaner?
Post by: ROD on June 04, 2013, 04:19:23 PM
Whilst dealing with my brake problem.Ive noticed that I have brake fluid on my frame ::),presumably where it has leaked out of the cap,and blown rearward over the frame. Quite bad, blistered etc and paint falling off. I seem to recall there is some sort of household cleaner(neat bleach?) that I can wash the area with and it will also neutralize the fluid ,to allow me to repaint after rubbing down . Has anyone any ideas?

I've only ever used warm water and washing-up liquid. Any paint that has softened will probably need scraping off.

As above, just give it s good wash with soapy water.

If you every need to use brake fluid for bleeding brakes or clutch have some water on stand by, if you spill any just rinse it off straight away.

i lost a lot off primer from my minx when brake pipe sprung out an sprayed fluid everywhere, not a lot you can do to save anything.
