Title: Nearly there at last.
Post by: superman on June 02, 2013, 07:49:36 PM
Think I am just about ready to book the MSVA, after several trips to local DVLA office eventually got a new frame number. All stamped into frame and paperwork signed and returned, just need to get trike onto local airfield for a test run first.

Needs the Superman logo on the tank!

Was supposed to have one made for the top of the tank by a local graphics company but got sick of his excuses why it was not done and gave up after 2 weeks of waiting. Obviously my meagre sticker was not worth it to them  >:(

Not heard from Clive for a while, (taking time out from airbrushing to care for his parents), but doubt he could compete with that price! (£1.99).

Wanted the logo to be 10 inches wide to cover the tank top. Had the trike out today on local airfield, run like a dream but scared the crap out of the wife  ;D

;D First time I rode mine it scared the wotsit out of ME!  I thought what the hell have I made.
Nice looking trike by the way. Another one soon for the road :)

Yup, must be a common reaction -I remember thinking, My God, I've created a monster!
I don't think those first couple of wobbly rides around the block are ever how you imagined they'd be.
Once you adjust your riding style & get used to their idiosyncrasies though, trikes are a lot of fun!

Passed the MSVA on Monday, 2 years of hard work was worth it ;D. Got mot tomorrow and then onto the local DVLA office to register the trike.

Thanks guys, don't know if any one else has heard anything but the tester at the Vosa centre said that they are closing the sites down, some before the end on this tax year?

Yup, been much discussed here & elsewhere, though no-one's quite sure how the system will operate after that.

;D Road legal at last, passed mot no problem and less than an hour at Lincoln DVLA office came out with paperwork to get numberplate and a years road tax. Very impressed with the inspector at Lincoln, been very helpful from obtaining a vin number back in March until completing the registration today.

If he'll be looking for a job soon, maybe it'd be nice to drop him a quick line, thanking him for his efficient, helpful service.  ;)
Well done chap! In the words of Billy Connolly- one more of us, one less of them. Another fully legal custom build on the road.
When do we see some pics of the happy owner on his first road trip then?
