Title: Norths A40 Devon Post by: The North on May 26, 2013, 10:05:37 PM Finally got started on our Devon rod after close to a year of ownership ::) Other projects have taken priority over this car, but i have cleared enough space to get underway on the old girl at long last.
Even getting the registration as took a back seat forms filled in everything just got side lined with the trials projects taking priority, you cant do everything.! Started where i wanted to with the bare chassis that is in fantastic condition no rot or rust whatsoever, i have rebuilt the front king pins and re bushed the arms and its assembling the front end next. Rear axle has 4.6 marina van diff installed, and i am going with an MGB engine on to a floor change Devon gearbox. I have looked in to this in detail myself after reading what was involved, and i have worked out how i will go about this and will show in detail exactly what i do so as others contemplating similar install will have details and photos to help if they need them. Always thought the Devon was made to be customised. Lovely shape and very strong x braced chassis. Title: Re: Norths A40 Devon Post by: The North on May 27, 2013, 09:24:39 PM I have to weld up the rear wings around the mounting bands next job, they are about the worst part on the car. Outing the curved sections could be tricky by the looks.
