Most others I've seen have been converted too. The choke cable's made of rigid copper. I used a standard universal cable on mine cos it needed a few bends in it, but now I need to fit a return spring as the choke doesn't shut off properly when I push the knob in on the dashboard.

As such it's not engine temperature dependent and people find it is on when they don't need it. I've used auto Holleys for years and simply turn on the ignition a couple of minutes before I'm ready to go they are adjustable to minimise /maximise the time they are on.
