Title: possible project Post by: scannerzer on April 07, 2013, 09:56:14 PM this is just a wild idea at the minute but i came across this today. i know it would be a lot of work
but wot do you think of building a separate chassis for this and trying to build a rod from it, maybe even using the chassis from the reliant that donated it's running gear to my trike am i nuts for even thinking it :-\ :-\ (http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Eddie096/D40C7171-C6EF-4CDB-AA9D-34B3DBF991D7-120-000001008EC66013_zps2546bd23.jpg) (http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Eddie096/6A985351-83D3-4A04-ACB2-19E9AC8432CD-120-0000010097C7E42E_zpse6e529d2.jpg) (http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Eddie096/C5294CC9-98A6-4EBA-9F68-F5C1F3429AB0-120-00000100A2721C7D_zpsd42407ed.jpg) (http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Eddie096/4AFED6B6-692C-4815-833B-6E1D92D08A04-120-00000100AA4E0EAB_zpsd066fa10.jpg) (http://i1056.photobucket.com/albums/t373/Eddie096/CDD18A8E-41C4-43F4-B685-F3C45C4AD414-120-00000100B79684E5_zpsa63c6f1d.jpg) there ain't much left of the floor but as I'd be channeling it over a chassis that wouldn't be a problem, the outer body isn't too bad the trike is the first thing I've built from the ground up so what do you guy's think opinions and comments please Title: Re: possible project Post by: Manky Monkey on April 07, 2013, 10:06:43 PM Austin A35. Jay Jay used to have one, so would be the best person to ask for input.
Lots of them still on the road, which means spares must be available. High ridin' gasser! Massive rear rubber, V8 wedged in the front with a supercharger poking out the bonnet! ;D Title: Re: possible project Post by: scannerzer on April 07, 2013, 10:09:39 PM Austin A35. Of course you are, or you wouldn't be on this forum with the rest of us mad monkeys. But even so this one looks like it may be a bit far gone unless you are very good at bodywork. Title: Re: possible project Post by: Manky Monkey on April 07, 2013, 10:39:32 PM But if all you need is the exterior shell, the rest doesn't matter. Repair panels are available for the worst areas.
Nice little box section chassis, Ford V6 -cool! Title: Re: possible project Post by: spanners on April 08, 2013, 01:01:42 AM 1955 austin A30, not a35, ;) as it has a small rear window and the a35 had a large rear window ,,i learnt to drive in one,, ;)
Title: Re: possible project Post by: scannerzer on April 08, 2013, 06:10:36 AM I might have a go at this, the trike will soon be finished so maybe
a project for the coming winter and a v6 with an auto is Probably the way to go Title: Re: possible project Post by: NeilG on April 08, 2013, 08:26:07 PM A young lad on RnS built a A35 rod, strangely enough using Reliant gear originally.

Repair panels are available for the worst areas. Says the man who replaced almost every panel on a Charger..... ;) Title: Re: possible project Post by: Manky Monkey on April 08, 2013, 10:35:19 PM Not almost every panel Bobbi -every panel.
I didn't say it was a good idea, just that it could be done! Title: Re: possible project Post by: oldmetalhead82 on June 22, 2013, 11:46:18 AM Dropped an A35 2 door shell into the scrap skip at work a few years ago, after stripping it of all the running gear, bonnet, bootlid, doors and glass, and it was in one hell of a better condition than that one !
