Title: 1935 Chevy 1.5 ton Stake bed truck
Post by: 57gmc on December 31, 2012, 11:31:01 AM
Got this recently,
It was used in the film Captain America and sold at auction to someone that passed away and re auctioned recently.
It came from North Dakota from a dealer that supplies Wyliez with his rusty imports.
For the film it was painted, the seat recovered, engine and new tyres fitted.

I need to fit indicators, brake lights and rewire and upgrade to 12v
Subject to all the greasy parts being OK i can then register it with the DVLA

It drove on and off a trailer but am a bit concerned about the rod brakes!

I like that.......

Guess you're gonna keep it fairly stock? Could be good for promotion work.

What a lovely old truck. Nice to see something different to Fords for a change.

Tony, I will have some sign writing on it in the future but feel I should keep it stock looking but with some upgrades in the future ( brakes, gearbox, electrics etc )
Spanners, it was on ebay to get interest in the auction at Brooklands only.

You'll fit lots of bobbers in the back of that.

Or chickens. Lots of chickens.
That's your second vehicle from the Captain America fleet isn't it? You planning your own sequel?

We already have Chickens and it was suggested i use the back as a coop but i think Archie should let me have his bobber to try for size instead.

Like the sound of that plan, think you have a real nice keeper there.

I remember when the auction came up early 2011
