Hiya. That's a bit of a transformation isn't it! Love the knobbly front tyre. Not seen exhaust wrap used on handlebars before. It's quite effective.

Title: Re: Have not been on board for while been busy short update
Post by: gsxbobber on December 29, 2012, 08:30:11 PM
Thanks for the feedback folks i am not building show bike just trying to be bit different on a strict budget thought might let you no so far ,mz petrol tank bought for tenner, yamaha custom front mudguard cut and shut on the back, honda gl500 front forks, homemade riser top brackets, seat base is plywood covered in bit of foam and material, seat springs are cut up shock springs,cx500 engine has done 150,000 miles still on original bottom end and pistons, but have changed stator ,camchain, oil seals, etc rear wheel is cx500 hub on a goldwing gl1100 rim 2.5" 17" diameter ,basic re-wire no lights going to be fitted daytime only did not hardtail because my 57 year old backside needs a bit off comfort.Rear shocks are shortend honda cbx 550 nighthawk.ps monkey the colour is wine red and the bike seems to be starting to look alien not intended.

In my 2 wheel days I borrowed a CX for a while when my bike was off the road and I loved riding it!   I would have seriously considered replacing the GT with a CX but it was too top heavy for me when pushing it about.

Yes they are a bit top heavy but you do get used to it and with a sporty exhaust they have a sound of there own due to the shorter stroke and most people do not realise they are overhead valve motors.

Once I'm sorted with all the s**t at the moment might look for a cheap CX to use as a winter/work hack...
