Last night about half ten  the yard light came on i noticed a citeroen balingo/ peugeot parner van pull up down the lane on the camera was there about 2 mins no more and reversed out slowly and drove off back towards the road.
 Cut a long story short i decided to keep a look out for this van so i stayed  on ebay waiting for an item to end and looking on here and piston heads guntree etc , and it got to about 1.30 and i was ready for bed, I had just drooped off and our lass wakes me up the lights on and toms barking, i went down stairs like three at a time and out the back door through the gate and in to the yard i could  see the little shed door is open and a little scum bag is legging it across the lawn with my labrador and springer running round him barking, i set off running he fell over the springer and i honestly thought i would get him, but  he  got up and made it to the wall just before me, his mates were shouting something either at me or him i am not sure, the van started up and they were off with two in the back with the rear doors open,. I was a spectator then, and man was i tired you could have hit me with a brick i would have felt nothing i was that raved up.
  They had got one of those crappy chinese generators a two stroke and an ancient still strimmer laid at the side of the lane, they must have gone in fast as anything or some how broke in without the dogs hearing.  The tri circle cheapy lock had been cut and i won these beauties he drooped them on the lawn when he fell over the dog.

I got turned over in january nicked my xt and a lt50 the kids play on, but the police were super fast and got them back, cost me 150 to get them out the compond but at least they got them back for us.
 That was gippos for sure, this lot were no way as efficient and fancy nicking junk like that, still all this brought the January raid flooding back to me, i got that horrible feeling of a mix of anger tinged with bewilderment and that just wishing it had not happened at all.
  Anyhow get your cars bikes trikes quads etc that are not actually insured for the road, sorned or off roaders  insured. This reminded me of that feeling of total loss when the garage doors are open all the easy to move stuff gone and your house insurance covering nothing vehicle at all, i was in this position back in January  and indeed still am uninsured for this., if you know of a company that will insure motors against theft when in storage, please let me know.
 But let my wake up call please be yours get them insured some how i am this time, next time and it looks like there will be a next time i could lose out big style.
 Man if i had caught him i would have lethered the little rat.  >:(

Thats a depressing, but familiar story mate. I read a statistic online somewhere recently that said sneak thefts like this go up by almost 80% during the long Summer school holidays.

If i had caught him, he would have known it was me ! Filth that's too good a word for them. Get your cars and stuff insured everyone.  And any companies may offer cover please let me/ others know, as soon as .

An electric fence energiser is around £30, fence netting is around £50.

Did you get the police out?  Those bolt croppers may have had fingerprints on them!

I used to use farm gate alarms which where a very basic trip device with a 12 gauge blank in them, had one wired up to my DT125 in the council garage and had a young loud mouth lad poking about whilst I was working outside. I nearly s**t myself when the bugger went off, I'm bloody sure he did, never seen anyone go that white, I rearmed it and put a balloon full of Red printers ink in front of the blank so next one would think he was bleeding.

No BG i did not bother nothing actually went adrift just a tri circle cheapo lock, and i did win the bolt crops,  I did consider ringing them straight off, but then i remembered just how few finger prints that are actually usable as evidence they can get off a scene or item. A finger print police chap came here after the january raid, he was here ages got a trainer print and some fingerprints off the marlin car they dragged the bike and quad over but nothing was good enough to use. I think the fingerprint thing is fine in films and tv shows but less cut and dried in the real world, damp conditions dew etc cause problems with them to the copper said.

Yes I know the problems with fingerprints (used to work for local plod) but as they hadn't been laying around all night they might have been good, might have been the extra bit of evidence that convicts!  But I know what you mean, when my baby bike was nicked from my garage it was a waste of time reporting it, they weren't really interested.  (It was found due to my daughter being slightly clairvoyant)

In fairness to the police i was always of the exact same opinion, but do you know yjr copper who came out at half 6 that morning in january was bang on, he looked a bit strange at me and deep thinking, and it dawned on me he must have been thinking it was a put up insurance job or something, and i said hang on you dont think i have anything to do with this do you, he laughed and said no not at all but this job as someones name all over it i am on my way now and i will be back with your bikes all being well. True to his word he got them back. How can you fault that. Perfect. The courts were the let down got everything on them possession the lot did nothing to them cerfu hours for a few weeks danm all, and that was not just my job but three more bike thefts in the area in the following weeks. ridiculous the courts are do gooders and are doing no one a favor including the criminals who the courts dont discourage from committing the crimes.

PHEW! I feel better now nothing like a good soap box shouting session to clear the lungs.  ;D ;D You have got to laugh if you didn't you would cry.  :)

Totally agree about the courts - the 'old school' coppers I worked with couldn't wait to retire as they felt they were just wasting their time, they diod all the paperwork, statements, evidence, often even got admissions from the scroates - then either the crown prosecution Service decided not to proceed, or the Court just let them go.

;D ;D I am not short of dogs  we have three a pointer a springer and a lab but none that would bite anyone, they have not got a bite in them.
  I have done a bit of enquiring today on off the road storage insurance , no luck at all in fact one said no one will cover cars or bikes in storage its too big a risk, and reckoned i would struggle and if i did find any it would be expensive.  :(.
