What does surprise me, is that anyone is surprised at the way ex Military personnel are treated, and always have been, in our great Western society, once their usefulness is over, sweep them away under some "carpet" so that the general public's sensibilities are not strained by their distress and missing limbs! cynical, of course I am, I have lived long enough to have seen it all before, and who among us has not seen "Born on the 4th of July", I think that speaks volumes, does it not..........fair society, I think not, Morrag

Been happening since for ever - Kipling wrote about it.

It's a real shame that Help for Heroes seems to have got it so horribly wrong - we all thought they were going to make a real difference to our wounded soldiers but just like all the rest, once they're discharged it seems everyone loses interest.
