i avoid france, too much hassle, theres better/easier places,
there is probably a lot of nice folk there but i found mainly rude ignorant ones , and the rozzers try ripping you off when they see a GB plate
not a place ill go again unless i have to,

I have always liked France and the French have been unbelievably good towards us wherever we went on the bikes. Looks like I may be in the minority here though :)

no your not Nabism, never had a problem either. I've met far more rude arrogant tosser's here than I ever have over the channel..... cop's haven't been a problem on all the visit's I've had over there

The reason for my post was to alert people that traveled over to France to be aware of the new law so they wouldn't get a fine for a sat nav that had pre installed alerts

Thanks for the warning Mouse...I go over every 2 or 3 months & as yet never had any trouble out there....I worked approx 15 years on the continent driveing an LGV & always felt welcome in no matter what country I visited...well apart from when I got shot at in Lithuania lol....Voodoo....

I'm another who loves France - the people, the roads, the way they treat bikers.  But I have to say I think it depends where you go - the cities are not the same as country areas, I've mostly been to Normandy and Brittany.

Was over there with the bike club once we went on a rideout and when we stopped we were saying ' that was a poor bit of road for France' - when we went back after our day out they'd resurfaced the road, repainted the white lines, and taken all the equipment away!

Lol Digger, it wouldnt put them in a positive light. Always used to be quite sobering when a couple of cops jumped out to pull you with automatic weapons at the ready. We always got waved by when they saw the GB stickers so personally we never had cause to complain (we were speeding as well)

Never forget seeing a special police group go into action against a group of bikers in one of te towns surrounding Le Mans during a 24hour weekend. The bikers were a bit unruly wheelieing between tables and did warrant something but this group (are they TAG?) flew in with batons and severely beat anyone in the area, looked more like a small scale riot
