Title: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: Chevy Rick on February 20, 2012, 06:55:17 PM This show seems to be on a downward path, more people trying to sell you products than bikes being exibited, clubs not making the most of their presentation and every hall all bunched up, at times I think health and safety should have been addressed especialy after the rain came on people just hung around the exits eating food and causing congestion, thats my rant over its a shame after some realy good years.
Jay Jay and I looked in on the MAG stall hoping to meet up with Doc ( Twisted Patience) his pals said they thought he might be home rocking the baby. Tony thought this first photo might have some connection with you Mr Oily Bike? Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: Dslam on February 21, 2012, 10:28:15 PM I'm glad someone knew about the Suzuki. I hadn't a scooby. I've seen the Triumph somewhere but I can't place it.
I used to have bikes in the front room too. SWMBO is not keen. I have managed to get this in the front room though ;D Just have to sneak in a frame, some wheels and a blower and we are there!! Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: hunter on February 21, 2012, 10:43:37 PM Glad to see your using the norton box.
Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: Tony oily bike on February 22, 2012, 01:33:00 PM mmm 650 Triumph pre-units.........
I used a Norton Laydown box on my 650 Methanol Triumph Sprint/dragbike a few years ago. There's a photo of me somewhere with it apart on the pavement during the Speed Trials at Brighton one year ! oops! ::) Here's a 1964 pic before it was fitted in the frame (way before I got the bike in '97) Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: hunter on February 22, 2012, 02:52:35 PM Hi Tony,I see it's an alternator bottom end,What barrel and head was on it,
The fining has a radius look to it. Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: Dslam on February 22, 2012, 05:29:59 PM Is that the Alfin setup from the Tribsa Tony?
Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: Tony oily bike on February 22, 2012, 10:23:55 PM Young Master Dslam's right.
The bike was built (not by me) for some of the Dragfests in the early 1960's. The barrels were the Wellworthy Alfins, and then head was shaved to make it 'round' to match the barrels, which must have had a lot of folk wondering what it was. Couple of threads that I found that may be of interst: http://showandgo.blogspot.com/2009/06/wellworthy-alfin-cylinders-for-triumph.html http://www.jockeyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=81865 Title: Re: Bristol Classic Bike Show Post by: hunter on February 22, 2012, 11:17:14 PM There is a set on ebay,That have been sleeved down to 500cc.
