Just out of interest, the guy riding/crashing the motorcycle during the chase scene was McQueen's mate, Bud Ekins (who did the jump in The Great Escape. Yup, remember the Puma ad. Very clever. There's a similar one featuring Lewis Hamilton the formula One driver, racing McQueen -it's an ad for watches. Recently saw the Clint Eastwood film where he plays an out of town sherrif who has to collect a prisoner from a big city -Coogan's Bluff? Features a chase between 2 Triumphs across a city park. I love all those 60s films. Everything, & everyone just looks so much more stylish. |
