Talmag Trophy Trial - pre '65 Trials bikes - Aldershot


According to the ACU site (as of 2011-11-22 at least), it looks like the 2012 event is on Sunday 29th January, but I'd recommend a close eye is kept on the website, as the date seems to have "moved" in the past.......

A chilly day around 2 degrees C greeted the 2012 Talmag, so as a spectator, tramping around the hills watching the stages was a good way to stay warm.

A large entry of bikes, and it seemed even more spectators than before.

Here's a load of snaps to give a bit of feel for the day.

Most motorsport is a 'solo' competition, in sidecar trials the rider has to relay on his passenger to balance/load the outfit for manoeuvrability and traction

Always mean to do this one as it's fairly local but still haven't. I'm not personally into trials riding, but think the bikes look fantastic. I'd go just to take in the sound & smell of them & to watch them being ridden as they were supposed to be, rather than cossetted as museum pieces.

And when he gets it wrong..........  (my mate Bob on the bike with Colin in/on the chair)
