Mr Monkey you wanted a logo for tshirts well what about this
i tried the green but it just didnt work at all
this gives a 50's retro feel, i have tried a huge amount of different colours and these seem to work best
what do you think
would look good as a patch on a shirt similar to your orange one (except in a beige or cream colour)

I bought a T shirt in Marks & Sparks the other day -yeah, I know, how sad is that eh? It says something like L.A Motorworks on it but the print looks like it's been scrubbed with sandpaper in places to give a faded, "distressed" look. Have you got a font like that? Or can you just "age" the whole logo? Like the oval shape & lettering but can you try a cartoon monkey in place of the tyre? Not sure you'd immediately recognise it as a whitewall tyre & might be confusing. As you say, simple works best. Something instantly recognisable. There's a car in my street with a "Baby on Board" sign in the window. Got a cartoon chimp on it that would be perfect. Not hairy like the first site logo we tried, bald headed, big round eyes, round cauliflower ears, big smiley mouth. Hard to describe but I haven't got a scanner so can't draw it for you. Any cartoon faces on Google Image you could pinch? I was thinking cartoon chimp head with hairy arm holding spanner hanging over the edge of the oval. Failing that, some variation on the Gorilla face on the homepage? Do you think he'd look better without the shades, as he is on the links page? His leather jacket would fit the 50s look. Flap, Ska Man, Si & I have talked of having a patch made up to sew on the pocket of american style button up short sleeved work shirts to wear when we're out on our trikes. Got a local company here in Basingstoke that do embroidered promotional stuff. If we can find a design that works on shirts Kris has said I can sell 'em in his shop. Colours -could you try banana yellow on mid brown shirts? Or a sepia brown/cream combo?

Mmm, not sure now! Can you outline the letters in black as they are on the red one? The red looks much clearer -got more oomph, but I was thinking yellow on brown might fit the Monkey theme better & looks more olde worlde -probably cos I had several favourite bike shirts back in the 70s in those colours! Can you try a pair of dice in place of the disrobed lady person on the red background? Maybe in red too -less colours equals cheaper print costs! Really don't want white shirts -personally I never wear white. Any ideas on shirt colours? Would the logo work on a variety of colours to give more buyer choice? What does black & white logo look like?

Yeah, that's pretty cool. What about an outline drawing of something like this on the left of the logo? Actually I like the dice one, but would still like to see something in the Monkey line if you have it please, in extra medium.

i think the red/beige gives it the best retro feel, and trust me i have tried loads of different colours, and nothing came close

But your opinion means so very little here. So what colour shirt then? Red? Don't fancy white shirts really. You don't think the yellow/brown would work with a monkey face, on brown shirts? You've got a LandRover shirt in those kind of colours haven't you? Can we see a "distressed" style logo please Yodie the textile king? Have you got a medium with extra long arms for Manky Monkies?

I'm looking for Monkies as we type, but can't find any. Nothing in your vast Google Image files?
