Received this email from Triker Pete earlier:

Hi Everyone
Please spare me a couple minutes to read through this email

I've just, today, been asked to help get you good people together to show your vehicles at an event down here in the New Forest.

"Forest Fayre" is being held on 29th & 30th September 2012 at New Park, Brockenhurst, Hampshire, SO42 7QH. The site is on the main Lyndhurst to Brockenhurst Road, the A337, just 7 miles south from Jct1 M27.

The Lions Club of Lymington & Brockenhurst are behind this event which is being held to raise money for charities, one of which is Air Ambulance.

During the course of the weekend there will be displays of Static Steam Engines, Donkey Derby, Donkey Rides, Craft Marquee, Dog Show, Belly Dancers, Helicopter Rides, Children's Fairground Rides, Indian Teepee Setting, Hot & Cold Food, Various Stalls and more. Overnight Camping Available, to be booked in advance.

Anyone wishing to enter their classic/custom car/bike/truck etc etc., can do so free of charge, those just coming to view will be charged £5 at the gate.

In the first instance please contact me by returning this email telling me what vehicle you will be bringing. I really would like to hear from you good people soon, hopefully before Monday 24th September 2012.

If this event turns out to be good, as I'm sure you will make it, then there is talk of it being a regular annual event and next year will include things like Auto-Jumble / Bands / Raffles / prizes for vehicles etc etc

I ask just one more favour.....Please pass this info around to those you know maybe interested in showing their car/bike/scooter/tractor/truck/static steam engine etc etc.

Thank you for your support
Pete (mobile 07967 269918)

Weather was great for the weekend. Reasonable turn out for short notice. Thanks to Solent Renagades, Victory Wheelers, MG Club and the individuals for bringing their cherished vehicles which ranged from a 1939 Singer Van, Stainless Steel Reliant Trike, Model A Pickup Hotrod, Chevy Day Vans, several E-Type Jags, several Morris Minors, 1954 Vauxhall Wyvern, V8 Volvo Amazon to name a few

Hope to do this again next year watch  http://www.newforestcustomclassic.com/  for info and photos in the next few weeks

George's trike. It is gorgeous. He won a prize for it at Pylewell. I don't think I would cope with that gearstick though! Roll Eyes

I was just at a Victory Wheelers' club night and was talking to those who came to see you Sunday. I was surprised how few turned up. I suppose the weather didn't help.  Even though it was cold, they said they enjoyed the day but thought the event could have been in a smaller space. I suppose New Park is a big space to fill. Hopefully this was fed back to the Lions and they will reconsider the layout if they have it there again.

Another problem with events like this one that include cars and bikes to add more interest to the show (rather than a dedicated vehicle show), they don't really know how to present them and make them a focal point. Let's hope the Lions will also take this on board if there is a next time.

I think you said all money was going to the Air Ambulance. I know the weekend turn out wasn't brilliant but I hope they still managed to raise a decent amount for them as it is a worthy cause.
