Hi all. found myself a reliant axle stamped'A'.will this be suitable to convert a yamaha xv535? All views welcome. Paulywombats

Hi Pauly -& welcome to Mankydom.
This comes up quite regularly here.
My, purely personal, opinion- I've built a dozen trikes around Reliant axles & never checked any of them to see whether they were As or Bs. In fact, it was only through the guys here that I discovered there was a difference. Can't say I've ever noticed any axle was faster or had more pulling power than any other. There's so many other variables in a trike build I honestly don't think it matters. A or B, they all behave more or less the same.

MM is right. It's not a problem that is likely to come up very often as true B stamp axles are quite rare. A lot of axles I've seen for sale as B
aren't, it seems its not the letter at the start of the axle number that counts. Mine starts with a B and is 3.23/1
To do things properly you need to know the ratio of the existing final drive and relative tyre circumferences. The 535 is a fairly common conversion so  should be OK.
