Think I might try & make it along to that one. Just in my daily driver, but could be a nice little run in my truck when it's on the road.

Found a bit of info on the web relating to the proposed reunion meeting in 2014. The event is planned to be run on a disused part of the airstrip, but there will be no racing as the runway is broken up and not safe and some more info here (you'll need to scroll down a fair way) http://eurodragster.com/news/news.asp?Story=august19This was posted on 18 Dec 2012 on the Rods 'n' Sods website: We have permission in principle to hold a 2 day Blackbushe Reunion event in 2014. This will celebrate 50 years since the first event in 1964. The event will be held on the disused section of the airstrip and will have cars from UK and US as well as racers from here and the USA. There is a possibility of a couple of famous groups performing from the 70's as well as trade stands, car show and much more. The starting condition for permission is to get an indication of how many people will come to the event. Anyone who would come needs to either email interest on info@dragfest.co.uk or register on site dragfest or from your mobile dragfest.
Please share this today.
Thanks. Paul

For those not local to Surrey, old Englandshire, Blackbushe is a small airstrip, halfway between Basingstoke & Camberley, now also home to a car auction site & a Sunday market. Back in the late 60s/early 70s though, it hosted a thriving drag racing scene. I remember travelling there in the back of my brother's Escort van in the 70s & seeing top name cars of the day like "Revenge" & "Pinball Wizard" on the strip. Increased regulations & costs eventually killed racing at Blackbushe, along with several other small venues around the country. There's rumours of a revival meet in 2014 though. Unfortunately not racing as the runway's no longer good enough, but a custom/race show to mark 50 years since the first meet there. So, despite being in the throes of a pretty terminal bout of man flu at the moment, I did my bit today & went along to the Blackbushe Reunion meet. Damn it was cold there! A good selection of customs & American classics, maybe 100 in all from the local area. Lots of familiar faces, including several fellow Monkeys -didn't get to chat to you all & my super sore throat didn't allow for much chatting anyway, but Hello to Chevy Rick & Jay Jay, Janie, Renegade, Tony Oily Bike, (sorry, heard the Buell fire up but didn't make it across to say Hi), Scottie the hotrod haulier & family. I think my workshop buddy Loony was there too but must've left as I arrived as I didn't see him. With parking already very limited, even on a bitterly cold December afternoon, it looks like this could be a busy meet by the Summer. A few snapshots:
