No, not a competition prize!
I've got no transport on the road at all at the moment & absolutely no pennies to buy anything & it's becoming a real pain.
Someone on another forum's given me a free bike -a non-running VF750 Honda which I'm promised requires very little work to get it roadworthy, for nothing & for gratis. Nice to know there's still some generous hearted people out there.
Only trouble is it's sat waiting for me to collect it in a lock-up in Aberystwyth.
So -any ideas on how to get it back to Basingstoke in Hampshire as cheaply as possible, ie, for free?!

Are you in the RAC? Or do you know anyone that works for the Post Office? Some bubble-wrap and 3,000,000 first class stamps.

Yeah, knew I was going to get a sensible answer to this one, but hey what's the point of having your own site if you can't abuse your position occasionally!

Hmm, That's worth a try, though I know he's been unwell lately. I'll give him a shout.

Maybe post it a bit at a time -don't think it'd fit through my letterbox all in one go.

I've had a great day out today. Got chauffeured around the beautiful Welsh countryside in a big black 2 litre Capri, had chips for lunch, Jaffa cakes for tea with Janie & Dave then driven home from their place in Aldershot in the Consul -oh, & I was given a free motorbike too. A perfect day out.  Smiley
Many, many thanks to ByzMax, who, as Janie pointed out, doesn't look a bit like his avatar, for driving for 9 or 10 hours today, taking me all the way to Aberystwyth to collect a VF750, then delivering it to Janie & Dave's house in Aldershot cos I've got nowhere to put it at the moment.
Equally heartfelt thanks to Richard, ("Thrud" from the 100% Biker forum), for giving away a surplus project bike & deciding I was a worthy recipient. A top, top bloke.
And of course, to Janie & Dave for letting me park it in their back garden for the time being, then driving me home. I'm hoping by the time I get back there Dave will have succumbed to the urge to tinker & will have it up & running!
Thank you one & all. I love you all!!
Hope you know if I'm ever in a position to repay the favours, you need only ask.  Wink

Manky and I did indeed lurch into deepest darkest Wales today. Very nice day out and collected a bloody good bike eh Manky! 540 mile round trip that felt like 140 and no major probs. (Except the misunderstanding with the Heddluman (Welsh Policeman) and the sharp left turn towards Builth Wells.

Great day out Manky Cheers!

And thanks to Dave and Janie  for the coffee and for saving me the trip back to Basingstoke. Nice to meet you both.

Last but not least I must dispell a rumour that is going around about Manky's cake addiction. He must have been in rehab. Despite stopping at the same cake shop come petrol station come general store and purveyours of fine filter coffee twice in the same day he resisted the temptation to indulge.

It's a Miracle!! It's a Miracle!! He is cured.

Below. Some Welsh cakes untouched by Manky hands Grin
