Title: Re: Rattly Clutch? Post by: minimutly on May 03, 2018, 08:44:45 PM Gearbox 1st motion shaft input bearing - I replaced loads on Rover 200/25s (peugeot gearbox). Normally releaseearings get noisy when you press clutch, not the other way around.

Title: Re: Rattly Clutch? Post by: dr big750 on May 04, 2018, 02:01:25 AM If it's ok in all gears when moving, no noise, it's not a bearing, more likely to be the reverse idler gear as it has no load on it.
A common complaint, but will cause no harm, gear is just chattering on the teeth. Check gear oil level and if ok ignore. Bit for piece of mind, check colour of oil in the box, should be clean, silver/grey with metalic if there was a problem. Title: Re: Rattly Clutch?
