O.K, someone suggested we could pool our resources & post lists of any spares we'd be willing to pass on to other forum members. I haven't had time to root through my lockup yet, but I've just collected a new gearknob for my trike from Saddlebags. I use snooker balls. They're 2 inches diameter, which is a nice comfortable size to use with gloved hands, & obviously come in a variety of colours. I bought a whole set a couple of years ago cos it was the cheapest way to get one & they're slowly getting used up on various projects -Flap's got 2 in his Landrover. Saddlebags has drilled & tapped them all to 5/16" Whitworth, (standard Reliant gearstick thread). Most of the colours have been used now. I want the black for myself & will keep the white for some future project. SkaMan might use the blue. So anyone need a red, brown or pink ball? This idea will only work if we can trust each other -if we find our bits appearing on Ebay after we've given them for free we'll be round to confiscate your balls.

I'm off to bed now, but PM me your address, (I'm sure I've got it but it'll save me hunting for it), & I'll put one in the post.

It arrived this morning, thx Andy.
He didn't try to get it through the letterbox he had other large packages so had to knock anyway.
