Manky Monkey Motors

This years "Custom/Classic Car & Bike Meet" will be held on Sunday 30th May at Gang Warily Recreation & Community Centre, Newlands Road, Fawley, Hampshire, SO45 1GA Just 13 miles straight down the A326 from Jct2 of M27, only 4 miles from Beaulieu Motor Museum. Make sure you come on down and have an enjoyable day with like minded people. On offer will be Hot Food, Tea/Coffee, Bar, Live Band,  Stalls, Rodeo Bull & more. Vehicles will be on tarmac. There will be a small admission fee with proceeds going to the Air Ambulance. Hopefully there will also be Steam Engines, yet to be confirmed.

Wanted... contact details for any stall holders selling car/bike parts/music/clothing etc etc, you know the type of things you would expect to see at this type of event.

decided not to use pictures of cars/bikes as i was spoilt for choice so went with the horses head, after all new forest = ponies = horses, engines have horse power and the flames are beacuse i could!! .... well thats my excuse anyways :)

For anyone going early, there is a carboot sale on this site from silly o'clock in the morning.  I guess they will be leaving as the show starts.
Any ideas Pete?

dont worry about carboot..... thats being ousted to the field across the road. we have the whole tarmac site for vehicles and down on the large grassed area for stalls, rodeo bull, bouncy castle, band, food. visiting public will also be parked across the road with carboot so as to keep all custom/classic cars/bike together. toilets and bar are located inside the main recreation centre. disabled parking just outside main building. have managed to get a selection of stalls selling biker bits, clothes, jewellery, native indian / western stuff, icecream. hand made fudge etc etc. Also hope to have "fly past" by air ambulance.

dont forget, everyone tell your friends to come on down and have a good day with like minded people.

Handed out lots of flyers at both Awbridge Show and Hayling.

Is it ok if we arrive in the morning?...only asking as aint been to a decent bootfair in ages lol.....Voodoo..

only £2 per vehicle & driver/rider plus £1 per passenger. would have liked to been able not to make charge but the land owners etd all need paying :(

no problem if you arrive early, although im told the carboot isnt very big.
i hope to be onsite from 9:30 to sort out pitches for stalls ect

Its only a small boot sale, but the other half always brings something home. 
We must go and resell all this stuff one day ;D

If you have the time, there is a big boot sale at Netley Marsh, close to where the A336 crosses the A326.
Afterwards it is straight down the A326  to Gang Warily.

If you happen to be into bootsales, (I'm not but my ex wife loved 'em), there's a big one every Sunday morning during the Summer on the A3 coming out of London, just before you get into Guildford.

Just got back, again a BIG THANK YOU PETE! great day, good turnout.

I don't know what pictures I have yet as I gave my camera to someone else to go round while I directed Bikes and Trikes.

I have some as well, it was a great day for taking pics!   Not looked at mine yet, been to Southampton and boght a tent 'on my way home' from the meet!

Dito Clive  :( . Andy still isn't back yet but he did visit his mum while he was that way. Sorry I didn't make it. I just don't think my back is up to sitting in the car for that length of time yet as it seized just going to Cranleigh which is about half hour. Looking forward to seeing all the photos though  ;D

Im glad you all enjoyed it. A big thanks to all those that attended and a special thanks to those that helped out with parking vehicles and handing out the flyers at other events. We left the site about 6:30pm, after being there from 9am, and are now knackered, other helpers stayed on to pack stuff away and tidy up. The bouncy castle and rodeo bull etc had plenty of use. The last band finished just after 6pm.
Anyone up for this again next year :) Saying that there is going to be similar event at this same site on 21st Aug this year, to hand over the seasons "Bike Night" collection to the Air Ambulance.
Todays collection for Air Ambulance was over £500 ;D

You guys should be very proud -a very nice show. To us ordinary punters the organisation seemed very laid back & easy going -which is always the sign that the people behind the scenes are tearing their hair out & running about like crazy trying to keep it all together.

I deliberately didn't wear any Monkey gear cos it was Pete's show, (how about designing some T shirts for next year's show mate?). Then every other Monkey arrived in Manky shirts. Bugger.

The boys from Attitude Customs in Southampton brought their own show along. Some gorgeous machines being turned out by these guys. A write up on their shop from Pete online soon.

Bright sunshine ensured a good turnout for the show. And a sunburnt nose for me.

Sorry, haven't planned that far ahead yet. As long as it doesn't clash with any major shows I'll be there. Taz's attendance depends on when she's working.
