Thought I'd start a thread listing programmes that may be of interest that will be on the TV fairly soon. Fastest - MotoGP film/documentary about (and leading up to) the 2010 season, narrated by Ewan McGregor. ITV4, Sat 20 June 5:45pm. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fastest_%28film%29Rush - Premier on TV of Ron Howard's 2013 film of the 1976 Formula 1 season (Lauda & Hunt). Channel 4, Sat 20 June 9pm, and More4 Monday 22nd 9pm. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rush_(2013_film)

Nice idea for a thread. I don't watch much TV, so usually only find out about interesting programs when folk here mention them.

Did anyone watch the Formula E racing at Battersea Park at the weekend? It was quite good (on the TV of course). It was surprising to me to see how many relatives of well known names were racing. It is good to see this younger generation. The technology behind the cars was interesting especially when they dumbed it down and made comparisons to battery power I was more familiar with. I also liked the idea that the way the driver used the car's battery resource contributed to the end result. Once I got into the rules it became quite fascinating especially when those rules determined that a Brit won the race. JJ

There's some tyre noise, otherwise it's just the noise of a lot of electric motors. Same sort of sound as the TT Zero bikes on the IoM. Here's a couple of observations: One driver was penalised for using too much power. The guy leading the last lap, and who went across the finishing line first, was disqualified because his "tank" became "empty" before the chequered flag. On F1, there's discussion about making the exhausts systems noisier. Guess its a bit like putting the playing card against the spokes of your bicycle when a youngster!
