It brings the volts down to the correct level to operate the gauge,or it may just go to "full" all the time. I also think that the sender has to match the gauge. Have a look at speedycables site(I think) it used to have the info on there.Or maybe Car Builder Solutions site they have a lot of tips/info in their online catalogue and may have it in there.If you google "how to fit a temp gauge to an early Mini" or summat like that it also gives info on how to wire. Done it a few times but always have to look it up again!

checked that out rod a bit of usefull info via good old google, as i dont know weather the gauge or sender work ile opt for a new one in black if i can find one with 1/8npt sender Wink ta rod

The new prices are a bit high! best to try it out first TBH . If the needle moves when its connected momentarily to 12v then it'll probably be ok.I think its summat to do with the gauge number on the face as to how you match it to a sender.

ordered one up, after our experiences and expencies rod im not gambling with the old engine got a black one with sender just under £20. how far is the running in period rod around 500miles??? oil change then thrash the pants off it Wink

Im running mine in for at least that,but dont tend to thrash about anyway.Fifers yer man to talk about running in etc.

yes that is summers hair band on the go faster cable, twas an experiment to see if it helped take the jerkyness out of the trike over rougher terrain just give a few mm of play, mite be changed for a spring untill i get used to her. Wink

   it a new type of all over vehicle lacquer  Cheesy      my camera had an accident so Ive been using my daughters £20 5mp camera it is bright pink though so i really dont look a tool carrying it about Cheesy
