IT's not actually illegal to ride pillion facing backwards as long as you've got a saddle & footpegs. Bolt 2 pegs on one side. ;)

You've probably spoken to Bob the shirt guy more than I have recently. The Brit Chopper shirts sorted now? Workshirts are embroidered to order cos I can't afford to keep a stock of 'em, so I'll order one up for you when I'm back there next week. Any idea what collar size you are?

I've never been to the Ace - it's a bit far from here, I'll have to try and time it so that I'm on my way somewhere next year, and can stop off at the Ace en route.

Got the family coming round New Years Day - turkey and tinsel!

In the same baking tray?
The Ace Cafe's not what you'd call spectacular. Basically just a transport cafe in a service road, off the main North Circular dual carriageway. But it's got a lot of history & is still a mecca for bike & car fans alike. They serve great food at proper prices & hold events in their carpark virtually every weekend, as well as music gigs during the week. I think you'd enjoy it Bobbi.

Post by: BikerGran on December 29, 2006, 03:04:35 AM
Oh yes, I didn't mean just to visit the cafe but when they've got an event on!

Although I gather the boss ain't too keen on trikes..............

Title: Re: Hangover Meet at the Ace
Post by: Manky Monkey on December 29, 2006, 03:07:15 AM
Really? They hold a trike show there every March. Always plenty of 'em there for bike shows.
I've forgotten the owner's name but he's an old time rocker, so probably into old Brits rather than trikes.

Title: Re: Hangover Meet at the Ace
Post by: panthershaun on December 29, 2006, 07:00:32 AM
Always a few trikes parked when I go for the Hotrod nights, Mark doesn't seem the type not to like something, they may not be his "thing" but I know quite a few people who think they are neither one thing or another, In fact I used to think what was the point!!! :-[ you either want a bike or a car. But I have since been converted ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Mine have always gotten a lot of attention at car shows & drag meets. A PetrolHead will appreciate the work that's gone into a machine, however many wheels it's got.

Like so many of us!

The funny thing is, you just can't explain to anyone, they have to try it!

I've been riding bikes for ...27 years now. Some good, some bad, some bloody awful, but loved 'em all in their own way. Nothing's made me grin as much as my trikes though. Don't even have to ride 'em fast -just pootling about, putting them into corners, working them up & down through the gears. Just fun. Like driving a classic car -takes a bit more effort than a modern bike, but you get so much more out of it in return. Can't wait to get back on 3 wheels.

Trust me, I'm more interesting behind the keys than in person.
I'll try but can't promise. Had planned to spend the extra day in the garage, desperately trying to get my trike done for April.

Must be nice to have a job where you can make a difference.

I've never forgotten when I used to work on the farm, the cows were in the covered yard cos it was winter, one of them dropped a calf that wasn't breathing and no-one was there except me - I'll always remember the satisfaction of getting to start breathing!

Pity it grew up to be a totally useless cow and had to go to market!

Post by: triker-tazet on December 31, 2006, 06:55:07 AM
snap sort of but with a sheep the lamb was trying to come out the wrong way and got stuck managed to get it breathing but the twin behind it didn't live for very long and the poor little thing only grew up to go on someones plate but i know what you felt at the time you cant describe it its just amaizing

I'm sure you don't really want to know but.........

A good cow will give 4 gallons of milk every day.

A really good cow will give 6 gallons a day!

A cow that only gives 2 gallons a day gets sent to market.......

Title: Re: Hangover Meet at the Ace
Post by: Manky Monkey on December 31, 2006, 06:31:06 PM
Does anybody tell the cows that? That's a lot of pressure to perform. I think I'd struggle under those circumstances.
