It's electric confusion time again!
As you may have seen we have an XS650, been having a few electrical problems with it so I have just put a Boyer electronic ignition on it because I wanted to get rid of troublesome points etc and now I want to do away with the seperate regulator and rectifier that came as standard with the bike of that year (1976). This is where the confusion bit comes in! I'm not sure what combined unit I can use, it seems that the alternator is a Hitachi unit Brush type LD115-02 or LD115 which, if my investigations are correct, is a FCT type alternator and not a permanent magnet type. Can anyone help?
