Well, I went, pity a few more didn't. Must be heart wrenching to put in the effort and get a small turn out. Great day. wall to wall sunshine and Capn Jaspers were doing their normal roaring trade. Lots of Mini's and lots of Harleys. Seems every old geezer in Plymouth (except me) has pony tail and a Harley for sunny days on the Barbican. Pictures follow, not many but you get the gist:

That's a rather nice chop in't it. Never quite got the middle aged chaps in chaps & bandanas thing. I quite like some of the less tarty Harleys, but the whole image/lifestyle sales pitch would put me off ever buying one.
I've got a mate at work with a 1990s Mini which is her absolute pride & joy. The owners club people are quite fanatical about them. We did the London to Brighton run in it & by the end of the day I could see the attraction. Love the green pick-up.
Nice photos Steve.

This was my first car Andy. Used to drag my Maico around in the back. Thought it was great then, 1300 and tuned, carb sticking through the dash where the speedo used to be. Great fun when it backfired through the carb  Grin Grin

That's a rather nice chop in't it. Never quite got the middle aged chaps in chaps & bandanas thing ...

What I find a bit laughable are all the mid life crisis blokes (and their other halves if applicable) in brand new leather jackets and trousers. They don't even try to make them look a little bit more lived in. They also have all the necessary patches for the part, again, glowingly brand new.

Rick and I were out at some do and we couldn't help but watch a shortish 50ish man being helped into his leather chaps by his partner. I said to Rick, if it comes a time when someone can't get their own chaps on then they probably shouldn't be wearing any!  Embarrassed Roll Eyes

Liked the pictures. Like you said, disappointing if an event doesn't draw many people after hard work has taken place to organise it.
