What LED's are you using? As said by others there are some extremely bright ones around! Used 2 for trike stop tail light and had to tone them down.

It was like a scene from close encounters  Grin

I usually use 5mm Cree high brightness LEDs, which are very bright. I do need to look at something brighter to use with the light pipe or a better light pipe.

One of my latest projects. I was asked by a friend to make some custom lights for his Nissan 200sx. Here are the finished lights. I just have to fit them inside the lenses now.

Very stylish. Are they painted, powder coated or polished?

I've been playing with light pipes again. This time on a 2005 Mustang light cluster.

I've also remade the coil pipe for Lunnys Caddy light. Old Newbie kindly made me a wooden forming tool which has made coiling the pipe much easier. I just need to take some photos tomorrow.

I've been fairly busy recently on a few projects so here are some photos for anyone interested Smiley

Continuation of the 05 Mustang cluster - still work in progress as the lights aren't bright enough in day light.

Talk last night about your LED work prompted me to look at your posts. I love the one for Lunatic. The spiral is perfect for that Caddy light and really makes the light's shape even more appealing.

It looks like you are having fun trying out different ways of using LEDs especially in the more retro fittings. That combination looks really effective in the '55 Chevy light.

The first prototype of my custom turn stalk.
The end conceals a rotary switch and there is a push switch on the tip. This could be used to control wiper or light functions and the intention is it will fit a range of vehicles via a removable threaded adaptor.

Thanks. I managed to meet a couple of monkeys there.
Wheels day was a very busy day! There seemed to be a lot of interest in what I do which is good.
