Just a selection of stuff from my trip to Nova Scotia. About 10 minutes walk from my sister's house, where I was staying.

Nova Scotia's on the same coastline as New England, (America), & shares the same gorgeous Autumn colours.

A wooden pecker. 10 minutes further up the trail I saw black turtles basking in the sunshine in the creek.

Town Postboxes. As a Postman myself, I was curious about these. Canadian Mailmen use their own cars, rather than vans. Apparently they often buy right hand vehicles cos they can post the mail without getting out. These multi boxes are sited at the end of streets. The Postman has a master key, which opens up the whole front of the box so he can drop the mail in each slot. Then the householders come along with keys to their individual boxes.

Is there anybody there? Nope. I love it. Harbour seals in the surf just off the beach.

Warm sunshine all the time I was there, (mid October), but the snows were due any day.

Canadian houses are all timber framed & clad in wood, UPVC or even compressed cardboard. They all have cellars that cover the same floor area. If you want to live on a housing estate, or "sub division", you buy a plot of land then employ your own builder to build the house for you. So they're all different shapes, sizes & colours.
