Close - he said it was 1925, it's an SS100 and it's been bored out to 1200cc.  Tim's grandfather was involved in racing one of these on Pendine Sands and achieved 130mph - Tim's hoping to beat that!  Apparently the fastes ever recorded was 170!  Who needs a Hayabusa?

He prolly is cos it was back in the heyday of the bike, and not on that particular one which hasn't been speed-tested yet!

The ss100`s were riden to 100mph after assembly, (the ss80`s to 80mph) any that couldn`t easily reach that figure were taken back into the workshop, stripped and rebuilt, a remarkable achievement if you consider the production years!
The quality of engineering that went into the Brough Superior led to them being known as the Rolls Royce of motorbikes, and a speed of 170mph would not be out of the question after a little modernish tinkering  ;)

Fairly interesting at that speed as the suspension - well, there isn't any!
