As regulars will know, as a forum, we sponsor a chimpanzee called Micky at MonkeyWorld in Dorset. Each year those who want to get involved, chip in a few quid each to "adopt" Micky. In return we get a photo, quarterly newsletters & a pass that gives free entry for up to 30 people to the MonkeyWorld park near Wareham, Dorset. So we organise an annual run down to the park to visit "our boy". To try & get as many people there as possible, we set the date as the last Sunday in April, before the bike & car show seasons start. The 2010 MonkeyNuts Run is pencilled in for Sunday the 25th April. Should we manage more than 30 people, obviously priority for free entry will go to those who contributed to the sponsorship. do we meet up somewhere and go in convoy or just meet at monkey world. i'm thinking of going, if possible i'd like to bring me mum as she has often said she would like to go there

So far we've set off from the Hampshire area, taking anyone from this side of the country with us, riding down through Salisbury, then meeting up with the South coast guys in a supermarket carpark just outside Blandford Forum to ride the last few miles. It's all very casual & unstructured, (some would say chaotic). Once in the park, we can split up & do our own thing for the afternoon then regroup at a pre-arranged time back at the gate. The first time we went, Mr Toad arranged a mystery ride out afterwards to a local beauty spot for a bit of a picnic, which went well. Depends what the majority want to do & the weather on the day really.

No sooner said than stickied TB.  Of course you'll be very welcome Scott. That'll be the red Pop that Renegade spotted on New Years Day? Looking forward to the write-up on that one.  I reckon Taz & I will be put to shame by everyone else & have to turn up in our regular car cos none of our projects are road worthy. Like we said, nothing organised at all, we just have a bit of a bimble down there, spend the day pointing & waving at the other Monkeys -the hairy ones, the other side of the glass, then bimble home again.  |
