There's nowt as light as a hole, so add lightness.

Our lady of blessed acceleration, don't fail me now! - Elwood Blues

Nitro doesn't add power, it multiplies it! Bob Loux, running 10.07 secs @138mph on a 650 normally aspirated Triumph drag bike in 1965!

The supercharged Hilman Imp engined sidecar should be at Brighton with Manky's own Dslam giving it the beans...........

The annual Speed Trials are nearly upon us.

There'll be an historic machine by the name of Impulse going down the quarter, and if you haven't seen its own thread, its a supercharged Hillman Imp engined motorcycle & sidecar.

Fellow Mankie Dslam recently finished the restoration of the machine, and its grateful owner, Paul, has offered the Brightion ride to Dslam.

As a shakedown, the machine was put through its paces at a VMCC Sprint last weekend, and apart from devouring a couple of clutches, it ran strong!!

Looks fantastic Andy -the bike, not you, (O.K, you look cool too).
Great to see such a beautiful machine back out where it belongs again.

Go Monkeys!

As Pink Floyd's Time lyrics say:
"And then one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun
"

Well, 10 years ago back in 2002, DSlam and I were at the Speed Trials running interesting bits of old British Iron along the famous Madeira Drive.

He was on his trusty (and still going strong) 500cc Triumph Morado (piccie below), and I was on the green ex Denis Jenkinson 650cc Triumph (built by Jenks for the 1964/65 Dragfest meeting, but which was sold a few years ago).

2012 - Dslam's riding the recently restored Impulse, and I'm having an outing on a not-quite-stock Buell, so if you pop along to what is considered to be the longest running motorsport event in the world (tho Shelsley Walsh was also first used in 1905), come and say hello.

Saw the Buell in Mr Slam's shed a while ago & it's an interesting bit o' kit.
Won't be able to make this meet myself as I'll be working, but hope you can grab us some pics between sprints Tony.
