Thanks Morrag!   Possibly the one in Loony's workshop may be closer tho, I can't remember where you are (you're not on the Manky Monkey Map!)

I know it sounds like a lot of work but how about disconnecting the propshaft to tow the trike.
No cos I need to be able to take it off the trailer and ride it without major engineering!

Thats the Tow a Trike isn't it Morrag? I borrowed on that looked very similar off Hightower to get my VW trike back from other side of Grantham. Brilliant bit of kit and I keep meaning to get one made up.

don`t really like to think that I would use one of them. They do look a bit flimsy to me.

This still wouldn`t solve Bobbi`s aouto box problem though.

If the auto trike has a mini engine it can be tow'd with drive wheels on the road, the transmission has two oil pumps, one the engine pump that also feeds the transmission and a front pump located behind the speedo housing this lubes the trans when towing. originally the second pump was fitted so the mini could be tow'd behind large camper vans in the USA.

The one I borrowed off Hightower is a solid enough lump Cabby. It has been used to tow quite a few trikes now including HT's desperate dan V8 and I haven't heard of any problems. Going to get a copy done myself as it does seem the guy that made them has vanished. Best bit is they easily fit in the boot of a car so no storage problems. It does rely on having all three wheels on and capable of turning and wouldn't solve the auto problem for Bobbi though

Hi Bobbi

The maximum authorised mass of the trailer must not exceed the unladen weight of the towing vehicle for a normal car license. upto a combined MAM of 4.25t unless you have B+E.

With a trike on the Trailer I'd want a braked trailer.

Make sure the trailer is in good working order and your towbar has the manufacturers plate etc

Yes I've thught of one of those but it wouldn't be any good for moving the auto trike.

it would if you unbolted the propshaft  Smiley

I found a card of some nice people that got me right out of the sticky brown stuff a few years ago Bobbi. I know they`re a bit of a way from you but might be worth a chat. The Guvnors name was Neil Bolger, hope it helps.
