Click Additional Options when you post, then Browse, then select your piccie from your where-ever you've saved it. To post 2 photos in one message, just click Browse again.
If your pics are too big you could host them at tinypic.com, then cut & paste the URL into your message.

It's hard to explain what to do.
Save pictures to computer, open in a photo/picture editor program, shrink size of picture, save, then post. Think thats it. It realy depends on his software. I have several and don't know how to use most of them myself  ;D

Looking good Sir.
Have you tried the gearchange?
We made a gearstick for Flap's trike with a single bend so that it laid horizontally like yours, but found it didn't have the right leverage to move the gear selector. We had to add a second bend, so the stick ends up pointing vaguely vertically, to get it to work. My own gearchange was the same.

Title: Re: spanners trike build
Post by: spanners on March 07, 2007, 11:44:02 PM
yep gearchange works ok thers no wear in this box but its only temp

do you like my evil bay seat

Title: Re: spanners trike build
Post by: Manky Monkey on March 14, 2007, 01:35:14 PM
I like the gooseneck mate.
Personal opinion on the seat is it looks great but you should ditch the springs & sit it much lower on the frame.

Title: Re: spanners trike build
Post by: Terrortubby on March 14, 2007, 03:31:20 PM
Nice frame Spanners. i know who's building my next one ;)

I agreee with Mankey about the seat, lower would be better and stop being a girl, hardtail means hardtail or are you thinking about the back long term? ;D ;)

Title: Re: spanners trike build
Post by: Manky Monkey on March 14, 2007, 10:37:43 PM
Have you had a hardtail before Spanners?
They're really not as spine-jarringly rough as people think they are. We run 15psi in the rear tyres -any more & the back end gets very light & skittery -but two big fat car tyres still gives you a fair amount of bounce. The seat springs won't make a great deal of difference. The first two trikes I built had sprung solos, but I found when I pushed against the bars to corner I just pushed myself sideways on the springs.
Proper hardtail -you know it makes sense!  ;)

Yo spanners M M's right about the sideways movement with those springs but we cured that by welding a tube on the frame under the seat and a slightly smaller one welded to the seat base. The small rides up and down inside the larger allowing the springs to soften the ride without sideways movement.Woked for "she who must be obeyed"

Mr Spanners, (are you a Monkey Spanner?), I'll nip up to my lock-up & fetch that filler cap, then put it in with your latest merchandise order. It cost me a fiver at last year's Welsh National show. Yours for the same price.

I might be nicking your exhaust design for my own trike! Clever gear linkage. I hadn't thought of mounting it off the rear gearbox bolts. Very tidy. I take it that's a ball joint? What's it from?

I'm wondering whether a Superdream comstar wheel would fit - I've got a spare one of those - trouble is I think it's a twin disc one so it would prolly be too wide.  Also it's metal mand the mini wheels are painted I think.

and the pratt,, said,, dont know why people wuold even want one of them ,,,,things!!!!!!,,,

so what did i find when i got home,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

mike summits gone a miss fella. if you sold the l/rover and posted the book off its there! no question about it! secondly dvla will send you a letter asking if you sold it as an application for a book has been applied for. thats the only reason they,ve pushed this on you ask them how they know you sold it and wait for the reply ;)

We had a young lodger who sold a car, he sent the V5 off - we made sure he did!  Then he kept getting parking tickets, dozens of them!  We wrore a letter for him to send saying he had notified DVLA and it was nothing to do with him and he wasn't paying, heard no more!

Always best to get proof of posting though.

Young Spanners  has asked me to upload a few photos for him.
They are of the trike as it is today (ignore any dates show on photos) also included are some photos of how he made the gear linkage (again, ignore dates on photos)
I for one will be using Spanner's idea for the gear linkage, Thanks for the info it's appreciated

it seems the ball joint is from end of reliant trackrod which has been modified to suit,
the cup/ball joint holder is just a piece of pipe reamed out to suit and welded to some flat steel which is then bolted to bell housing of clutch. the base of ball joint has 2 small countersinks to locate the 2 bolts that are tapped through the piece of pipe, when they are tightened they hold it all in place.... clever chap that spanners  :)

That's very clever Mike. I was one of many who admired your trike at the Basingstoke transport show. Got a nice stance to it.
I'm not happy with the sloppy gearchange on my own trike, (it comes out sideways, under my left leg when I'm sat on the trike), so will be reworking it when I finish my truck project & get back to the Reliant. Something like that might do the trick.

well one fault was the tank had started a sweaty leak at the seam  so its had water in it for a couple of months last night i took a look at it ant took the welder to it  and no   BANG!!!!!! so it dont leak now  (fingers crossed) just got to check it again but it was looking good just (after tea) so i might do something with it
but its in  god,s garage ,,outdoors,, as i dont have a garage at this address  only a couple of small sheds full of kit

no ive heard rubber bits droping of and the like, i use water weld on the kit car,was out and "lost" the fuel sender, old garage bloke came out with this water weld in 2tubes i thought rido that wont work, squirted the tubes out roled in on the road in to a disc and smacked it ovr the hole!!! there was gravel and bits allsorts in in. i gor a case of the giggles from seen what hed just done. he said give it 10min to dry, couple of rollies later he came back out, i thought what the f**ks he doing now "BANG" whacked it with a hammer and said "ah ers done now"  2years before i sold it never leaked again.

Keep at it spanners....my original project started back in 2008 and I still have,nt finished it. I recently bought a gs500 project that I need to get on th e road NOW.That one, is still not finished either, but more do-able in the near future. Every time I go in the garage and look at my very first project,I just keep thinking "I cant sell it after Ive done this much work on it". It will be nice to get back at it as soon as this damn gs is complete.

Hi Mike, is it all going to plan ?
not exactly  >:( >:( paperwork and lazey  ,ass, ole,s,, solicitors failed to do today what they should have done last friday ,,just means more frustrating delays and another 17 phone calls,,
no we cant get the removal truck we were having on friday  ::) ::)

so trike is sat waiting to move home along with 2 duttons (ones allready gone into hiding , ;) ;)) got the prefab garage to take down on moving day aswell ,,cant take it down untill duttons and trike have moved as it will have to remain on the trailer untill it gets re-erected,, :o :o

well just a quick update here ,

the reason for rooting about and finding this thread again .. is someone may be interested in buying my trike and they were asking for pictures and details
well nearly all my pictures are on here and wernt saved anywhere else
and as for details a picture is said to tell a thousend words and i aint to clever with words
the other thing is  i dont know what its worth now ?  ?
if i had to buy the reliant bits again now the cost would put me off building ..
if she sells i wont be building again  as i,m retiring  :o :o to knackered to do it all again,,,

great shame that your selling mike'but health is far more important, i seemed to get there just intime on the parts front got a complete car for less than the engine's go for now, i know round abouts what ive spent to date, so you got to be looking at £1000/£1500 surely its a damn shame your not able to test it would add a g or two ;) i still think yours in one of the nicest frames ive seen as a reliant based trike and you'll sell it know probs

Got to agree it would be a shame to sell,i know you say you feel knackered but how would you feel when you see it go down the road and that is the last you have any input into the trike and how long would you have the money compared to having the trike.
I wish you all the best with what ever you decide
