Looking good, has the new bulk head been fitted yet or is that still the origional one? If not, who will be doing the change?

Hiya.
Way past our bedtime here, so will go into more detail tomorrow, but that's the old bulkhead in the pics. We bought the replacement one for 300 quid from a guy in Belgium. It was the only salvagable part from a scrap Charger. Just as well we grabbed it when we did cos we haven't seen another since & you can't buy that section as a repair panel.
Taz has just received some truly amazing photos taken by John the restoration company boss. They show the old bulkhead completely cut away & the front of the car held together by fresh air & a few prayers. She'll post them for you in the morning.
Wa-hey! Things are finally starting to happen on this project! So nyer, nyer, nyer to all those who solemnly advised us it couldn't possibly be done!  Tongue

Thanks guys. Yes all very exciting now untill we get the bill through. At the moment the photos are ending up on the MMA site, (Mopar Muscle Association), as the guy who's doing the work is a member on there and I have a thread like this one where he adds photos and so do some of the other members who visit his workshop. I'll be back soon.

Somebody's nicked a big chunk of our car!
As you can see, the JC Restorations team have pulled the scrunched chassis leg straight, using their 20 ton, "Car Bench" gear. We arrived completely unannounced on Wednesday & were just in time to watch the magic. Andy, the guy wielding the machinery, was quite happy to let us watch & explained the whole process as he went.
The car was bolted down to a table & measurements taken at various datum points along the chassis. From those, Andy could see the front end had been pushed across & up to the right by over 2 inches, from an impact of some sort to the nearside front corner. Not necessarily a whack from another car -with 2 1/2 tons of momentum behind it, it could just as easily be a simple driver error. None of the owners we've traced are admitting to it, so we'll probably never know.
Amazing to see all that twisted metal move so effortlessly. Now the chassis' straight, Andy will open up the box sections & cut out & replace the lumpy, bumpy bits -they won't let the car leave their workshop with chassis rails that look buckled, even if they know they're straight.
