Disruptive Pattern Material. The proper name for camouflage.  Cheesy
Uniforms in DPM  has been in use since 1969. The first uniforms were called "Pattern 1960" as they were based on the plain green 1960 uniform. Pattern 1968 began being introduced in the start of the seventies. It was later superseded by the Pattern 1984. This pattern proved unsatisfactory and was then replaced by the Pattern 94.

Its taken me a while but i finally managed to draw a repeating DPM pattern (below). The square can be put side to side and top to bottom to create the desired size. I`m not using the tradational olive green in the final spray cos i think its too dark, gone for a leaf green instead, but the brown, sand and black will be used.

very impressive. If i understand correctly, the cemical thats sprayed onto the sheet must soften the ink pattern which then sticks to whatever is being rolled. I`m puzzled as to why the ink doesnt dissipitate in the water though. can only assume that what is actually applied to the dipped part is a very thin film, a very posh way of using self adhisive stickers lol
