Just realised that, like last year, we haven't posted this one in the Events calendar.
Last year's thread says it all I think.

If you're at a loose end tomorrow morning & can make it, it's well worth the trip.

After seeing in the New Year last night, doing not a lot, I was up at the crack of mid morning today to pick up Mr Lunatic & head over to Phoenix Green, less than 10 miles away.
The vintage sports car club have been holding an annual meet there for decades as they were originally formed in the pub there. I've been attending them, mainly on motorbikes, for maybe 30 years on & off. In that time it's grown from a hardy bunch of true enthusiasts to just about anyone who drives or rides anything unusual. In recent years the road outside the pub's been heaving with a continuous traffic jam of automotive exotica. Which is great -but it seems it's become a victim of it's own success. The vintage guys appear to have abandoned it to the popular masses, with very few classic big tourers & specials of previous years on show there this time. Although there were a lot more hotrods, American classics & 50s/60s Brits, the true enthusiasts must have found somewhere more exclusive to meet I think, which is a bit of a shame.
There were still some gorgeous machines about though & still definitely worth a couple of hours of traffic watching on a chilly January morning. I'd much rather be here than semi comatose in front of the telly.
Some pictoirs for your delectation:

This isn't a carpark -it's the central reservation between the 2 lanes of traffic leading out of Phoenix Green. People just abaondon their cars wherever they can. It's all very good humoured with fortunately no show boating by the hotrod crowd yet, so the local Police are happy to leave things alone.
