The bodywork's safely tucked away in Darren's living room. Next job is to make up a new pair of yokes to take the tele forks.

The drag car body's been primed & blown over in a rather fetching shade of metallic green. Gotta admit, I wasn't sure about the colour choice when Loony told me, but it works very well. Makes the fibreglass bodyshell look nicely vintage. Just spare paint from Loony's Cupboard Of Many Colours, but has a slightly bluey green look to it, kinda like a mallard duck's head. Just to accentuate some of the styling lines a bit, Loony masked off some 1/8" gold pinstipes along the waistline, gutter & around the roof escape hatch. The body's not very accurately moulded, so it wasn't easy to find a straight line to follow, but they work well.

I keep saying it needs the angled windscreen visor, as fitted to original model A Fords, maybe with hotrod holes punched in it. That'd help to firm up the roof above the screen opening, as there won't actually be a screen fitted in it so it's all a bit wibbly wobbly. I know it'd probably restrict the driver's vision, but Brock says he spends most of his time watching the guard rail rather than the track ahead anyway. Also think it needs a vinyl roof insert, like the original As. A couple of inches narrower than the guttering, with a chrome edging bead. The driver has to climb in & out through the roof hatch, which I would've thought will destroy the paint pretty quickly. A lightly padded vinyl panel would save that & give the body a more authentic vintage look. Just my twopennuth worth. Scottie the hotrod haulier's bringing the car back on Monday to refit the body then take it straight to the docks to meet it's owner, Pedro, who lives on the Isle of Wight. So Loony will be rubbing down & clearcoating it this weekend.

Back in for the second time is this huge Austin Princess limo. Owned by a friend's Dad, it's used for weddings, but needs a spot of pre MOT chassis welding. Loony previously welded in a replacement section of exhaust pipe.
