It does look 'wrong' but I think if you tried to fill in the arches it would look really odd.  Not sure why.

Today's car is ...a Toyota Supra.
Loony's mate Ash brought his Supra in for some work on the rear bumper. He's into drifting -sort of skidding with attitude. Sliding cars around corners basically. He races in the Maxxis British Drift Championships. As it sits so low to the ground, the front bumper has to come off to load it on Ash's recovery truck. The car's purpose built for racing with all sorts of sooper dooper Supra stuff -alright, I don't know what it's fitted with, but it looks impressive with it's ground hugging body kit & sounds pretty awesome.

Loony's at the wheel here, though it was a bit of a squeeze for him to clamber in over the door bars of the roll cage. Good job the steering wheel's removable. He sponsors the car by painting it & repairing race damage to the bodywork. He'll eventually have his name on it -just as soon as they decide on a logo.

Another month, another bus.
Loony reckons he hates doing VW camper vans, but they seem to arrive on a regular basis. This bay window's in for the usual -new sills & arches.

A drift car? I suspect you mean a camper van Bobbi? 10 grand+ for a decent one these days.

 Smiley
Loony has a split screen camper of his own tucked away for future use.
He also used to own this VW Beetle, but sold it to some mug, Archie. It was buried in the back of the workshop, so when we rolled the Pop out into the sunshine this afternoon, he had a chance to drag it kicking & screaming into the daylight to finally get a good look at what he bought.

Loony's already fitted a beam extender, to push the front axle further forward, in a similar style to the Pop, & done some reshaping around the front arches. The wheels are my old Pop ones but I think they'll be changed & the body shell will be roof chopped & channelled a couple of inches over the floorpan. The black seats you can see on the ground behind the rolling chassis are fibreglass copies of my Pop ones, available from forum member Madron.
Maybe a bit too much toe-in on those front wheels Archie.

Remember young Tom? He's the guy with the black Chevy pick-up who fitted Cadillac tail lights to it at the workshop a few months ago. This is his XS650 Yamaha. He's entrusted Loony with creating a hardtail frame for it, using the original Yam front cradle. Today Mr L began mocking it up in his home-built frame jig.

Yes Clive, he did. Very generous of you mate, (lots of lovely pinstriping equipment). Thank you on their behalf. I'm sure young Ryan will be chuffed to bits with that lot.  Smiley
PD's visiting the workshop tomorrow evening, so will collect it then.

Ash brought the drift car back today. He's had vinyl graphics made of his sponsors' logos, so he & Loony spent the afternoon applying them, ready for this weekend's racing.
Loony's resprayed the body -apparently as a killer whale, & added a monotone Union Jack on the roof -hurray for the black, white & grey.
