Teetering on the edge of insanity

« on: August 18, 2011, 01:19:18 PM »

For my MOT on the trike this year I was required to put hazard lights on, which i did using a kit from Fleabay.

We've had a bit of rain this morning and the water has entered the switch, shorted it out and my rear hazards have been flashing ever since.

Does anyone know of a good waterproof hazard switch? Iluminated on-off with logo?

I bloody hope the trike starts later.

Why does it need the logo?
Mines just a waterproof toggle switch. 2 pin relay and 2 diodes. Job done.
When hazards are on the idiot lights flash so no need for illuminated hazard switch accordig to my information

Trike did start ok but it needs sorting perhaps another switch to cut the power to the other switch will stop the short haha

I have different system to yours mate and the reason I need a switch with a logo is coz my MOT man is a bit picky about that sort of thing

I have a year to find one.

I put an overide switch between battery live and hazard live feed TP. Hid it out he way as it should be there but lets me isolate hazard circuit if parking anywhere kids may take a fancy to flicking switches about

That's what I've got to do or make a cover to protect from the rain.

If you want to add a logo anyway, just for your own peace of mind, Car Builder Solutions sell a sheet of self adhesive symbols & words, printed in white on a clear background, for £3.60 incuding VAT. I used them to label the switches on the dashboard of my truck.

You can use the indicator warning light as the hazard warning light(as advised by BYZMAX).Mine passed MSVA like this ,so I guess MOT will also be ok. The switch hasnt got to be illuminated. I used a simple on/off switch and a flexy rubber cover from Vehicle Wiring Products.I also used the 2 x diode set up.Admittedly I havent been out in the rain yet,but the cover seems quite good.
