Actually had a guy follow me from the meet to the barn in Guildford where the Charger's stored to view it, but haven't heard any more from him yet. Oh, & I reversed out of a parking space at the museum, straight into a passing Range Rover. Gonna cost me several hundred quid to repair his damaged paint or go through the insurance now. So a day of mixed fortunes. A good turn out of muscle cars though, no doubt helped by the sun finally making an appearance. Brooklands is a fascinating place. Famous for car racing, bike racing & aviation. Several hangers of vintage race cars, as well as a huge display of wartime aircraft, various airliners, one of the Concorde supersonic aircraft, the London Bus museum -loads to interest any petrolhead. This year's Mopar meet was also open to hotrods, which were directed into an adjoining carpark, with the main paddock enclosure reserved for the muscle machinery. A good day out & great value for 10 quid. (big white For Sale sign for my Charger in the second pic!) I found it quite spooky to think it'd been laying at the bottom of the loch for 70 years. Amazing aluminium & fabric construction.

The Wellington bomber (designed by Barnes Wallace) that's on display was retrieved from its murky resting place way back in 1985 (the best part of 30 years ago). I can even remember the TV news covering the event. ::) The Hurricane, as best as I know has finished it's restoration. The engine was a recent addition (a gift me thinks), and they just managed to get it running for the recent (75th ?) celebrations. Blue car on page 4 is (I think) a very rare Iso Grifo.
