OK so it's not a "HotRod" but it is a V8.
A while back, the Jag started to whistle, rising in pitch with engine revs, (sounded like a supercharger) figured it would need a new belt or tensioner. This turned into a whine. Now it's turned into more of a howl. People turn and look Shocked.
Took a sounding tube to rotating components and found the noise was coming from the water pump. Slackened the serpentine belt and sure enough the bearings are shot. It turns freely enough and no leaks but there is a lot of side to side movement. So there goes another wad of cash  Cry

Exploding tensioners?
Replaced mine last year Angry
Rather have the old Rover/Buick V8 + carbs any day.
