that was plan number 1 but,,, not enough room to build down the side , and to get the best price on ready mix the base has to be done in one go 15ft x34ft--ish, Wink

Had a bad experience with a pit. Everyone was asleep so I used to turn my headlight off as I dropped down the drive. The road was high up and the light would shine right in the windows of the bedrooms. Yep, you've guessed it. Someone took the planks out of the pit cover (me) In the dark I missed the pit and parked the bike and as I put my foot down, there was the pit! In I went, followed by a bloody heavy Triton, upside down. Broken foot, a very strange gash in my leg and a ruined alloy tank. It was like the world came to an end, pitch black laying in a pit pinned down by a fuel leaking bike and I was desperate for a fag!!  The old man came out and after all the laughing and pi** taking he hauled me out and chain blocked the bike out while I attended hospital. Bloody pit.

Always remember what car you have when you decide to do a service over a pit, our coach painter Dennis forgot one dinner time at work and drove his Reliant Robin over/down by going front wheel first. A very red faced Dennis appeared round the canteen door asking for a lift but would'nt tell us why until we saw it, it was at about 45 degrees, the tapered body had jammed on the pit edges, we did'nt let him forget about it for a long time.
