anyone know the law concerning exposed fuel tanks and MOT requirements?

Would a Polyethylene Fuel Tank strapped to the back be ok?

At one time fuel on moving vehicles was required to be carried in a metal enclosure, hence the demise of unlined fibreglass tanks, many years ago, but things change I suppose, personally,I'd stick to metal, for obvious reasons Cry Morrag

Thx chaps.. I was looking at these ones from the USA.

http://www.dansperformanceparts.com/buggy/fuel/buggyfuel1.htm

I contacted Dans parts and they replied that the Poly tanks weigh twice as much as the ali versions which would most likely put them out of the running having them posted to the UK.. so may go for the ali version instead.

Cant find anyone in the UK who does similar stuff..  well not at a reasonable price.
