a mate of mine had an old Regal fitted with a 1275 GT mini lump, race tuned, twin twin chokes (I think ) went like stink and used to do brilliant donuts. Scared the hell out of me at around 110mph on the A21 from Sevenoaks to Tonbridge and suprised the boy racer in his Escort when we out excelerated him Happy Day's

That's what I like - something that looks mild then surprises people! Back in the 60s my dad had a bog standard looking Ford Anglia - the New Anglia with cut-in rear window. The engine was souped up and the suspension was uprated - when he started it up people used to look round to see where the noise was coming from, and people's faces in supposedly 'hot' cars when he overtook them effortlessly!!!

There's a mark 2 Consul on Ebay at the moment for 550 quid, (same as Janie & Dave's in the Motors section). Got a Pinto engine in it. Could put my 4 litre jag motor in it for a little extra performance.

I once knew a guy who had 2 Austin Cambridges, 1 saloon and an estate. I noticed one day that the saloon sat a little lower than the estate, also that the tyres were slightly wider and it had 2 exhausts. So Innocent me went and asked what the difference was................ 4 ltr V8 with twin turbo's, limited slip diff and racing suspension. Him and his missus used to go out in it with him wearing a flat cap and a pipe and her with a head scarf, used to scare the boy racers rotten Oh and his mate had an old split screen VW camper with a Porsche turbo engine and running gear, they were in a club called the "Street Sleepers" I wonder if they are still around

I once owned a Lada estate and desperately wanted to fit a V8 but couldn't afford it (nothing changes ) would have made a really cool sleeper

Thats why I drive a Land Rover as daily transport, once she is retired I will need another form of 4 wheel transport but I can't bring myself to own a "Normal" car. Which is why I'm looking at a Black cab, WHY you ask? well here is one from the BritChopper web site....
