A question for the painters n sprayers amongst us.....can you paint over a chrome finish? if so what preperation is needed?

Ive painted over chrome many times....all I do is go over it with 600 grit then prime and paint as normal...there are many specialist paints out there to put on when painting direct from bare metal ect but ive found a quick rub down does the job..and for all you pervs out there the rub down is for the chrome surface and not anything of a sexual nature lol....Voodoo....

Thank mate, thats encouraging. I have a honda sat in the garden awaiting something doing to it, its a toss up between chopping it and a respray, hence the question, or a restore to its former glory, i`m leaning toward the chop idea at the moment.  Wink

Hi Doc, its a little CM125 custom, just crying out to have the swing arm removed, the frame stretched and lowered,then a new hardtaild made up.  Roll Eyes

Muffin was looking for a little 125 for his good lady to learn on recently. He found one eventually, but it took ages. Seems there's quite a demand for decent 125s.

The same reason i bought this one, only for my son to learn on, not Muffins good lady  Grin. It`s now been sat in the garden for a couple of years awaiting its turn under the angle grinder.
