I felt sorry for Scottie. He had another job booked for this evening but had to cancel it as we were sat in a 20 mile queue on the M25. As Taz said, we were sat there for over 2 hours. Very weary bunnies now, but the Charger's safely tucked up in one of the barns. It's gonna take a week just to sort through all the cardboard boxes of bits to see what we have & haven't got. Seem to have 4 windscreen visors for example. Should keep Taz busy for a while.

Yup, everything's safely stowed for now. We loaded the car onto Scottie's transporter, (he says Hi by the way Dave), in warm sunshine, but by the time we'd trundled halfway home the heavens had opened & it was pouring down. A very long & tedious journey, inching our way along the M25.

Taz has been in touch with one of the previous owners & got a bit more history on it. Seems this car was destined for film use, playing the baddie in a remake of the "Bullitt" chase scene. The production company had a Mustang restored as the Steve McQueen car but then ran out of funding before the Charger could receive it's face lift. It then moved from one front garden to another for a while before having some major repair work done on the roof, (most Chargers had vinyl roof covers which trapped water underneath the vinyl, leading to premature rust damage). A young lad then bought the car & totally stripped the engine before giving up & passing it on to Danny, who we bought it from.

The body panels aren't pretty but hopefully can be pulled back into shape.

Taz is sparked out on the sofa here -time for bed for both of us I think.
If you need a vehicle moving, we can't recommend Scottie highly enough -top chap. His details are in the Links for Commercial Purposes section of the forum.

All those jokes you hear about the M25 being the World's biggest carpark- they're true.

Safely home, unloaded & tucked up for the night in the barn.
Thanks yet again Scottie for your assistance.
Now all we have to do is put it back together!
