Hi all, i have found a brilliant small descreat handbrake system for the trikes, as the car ones seem to big ugly and long, this one i just bought was from a burgmen scooter and is very small and can go anywhere yet still offering all the same as the big stuff, will have to take some pics and list them here for anyone interested. Regards Phill

right guys here is the pic from the listing as i got it off ebay £20, i shall take some other pics, but the biggest dimension is about 6 inch, pull the rubber lever to position on, it is obviously racheted, to release pull back a bit further and it realeases, really neat and compact, also has a switch so connected up to a light and you can tell if its on or off, neat Regards Phill words from listing "SUZUKI AN 400 BURGMAN
HANDBRAKE CABLE WITH LEVER AND SWITCH
WILL SUIT 2007 2008 MODEL BURGMANS"

Been thinking about this. How would you get the cable spilt to go to both rear calipers? will there be enough movement and power in the cable to lock the breaks on?
I think this will be fantastic if it works and a great space saving idea

I can't make out from that photo whether it's a stubby lever, that pulls up like a normal handbrake, or a button that pulls out, like a choke knob? On my own trike I've used a T piece, made from flat plate, to connect 2 cables to the lever. A tidier option, which I'll use on Taz's trike, would be a round bar through the bottom of the lever, cross drilled at either end to take the 2 cables.

yes i thought about the attachment to the 2 cables which feed the brakes on each side and going to use this little bugger, just the job me thinks, and it will allow equal pulling to each drum, regards Phill

Hello mate, if you push the lever away from you it starts to rachet until you hit friction, then push a little more and it realeases, so yes i reckon it can be foot operated, push to engage the rachet a bit more and the handbrake is off, easy peasy Regards Phill
